Today’s bonuses are two sprite strips with the continuing story of the monsters who came to take over the station – and security is on the job!

In April the astronomers from the Station Authority found the mysterious third planet in V3’s system… And more of you visited (and read more of the archives) than in any previous month. I don’t know if there’s a connection there, but thanks for reading! I hope you’re all enjoying the comic. (Tell a friend!)

It was also V3’s best month in a while on the buzzComix (top 40) and TopWebcomics (top 50) lists. Pretty close to my Top 30/Top 40 goals! (Maybe I should set goals of Top 20/Top 30 if I want to hit Top 30/Top 40?) Of course, one could say that it was because I put up a new voting incentive every day of the month – and one could be right! But not this month, since I haven’t put one up today. (But watch this space tomorrow! And if you missed any from last month, they’re all in the bonus archive now.) Thank You to everyone who voted and helped get V3 up that high on the lists! From the site logs, it looks like a lot of the new visitors probably found the comic that way. (And some people found Station V3 by searching for something…)

Coming up in May, someone’s going to have to investigate the third planet… And there’s also Online Comics Day, Station V3’s third birthday, and a guest strip week coming up!

I try to keep ahead on Station V3, but it doesn’t always work out that way. At most I’ve had a week of completed strips ahead of time, and usually it’s less than that. Last night was one of those “less than that” times, and as I was finishing up today’s strip, the power went out. A couple candles and a phone call to the power company later, I found out it was because there was a fire in the area (which turned out to be on Ash Street), and the power would be back on in an hour or so. Which it was, and I completed the strip (fortunately I had saved just before the power died), and it was up when it was supposed to be. Of course, I was just lucky the power was back on in time, and I suppose it points out the need to always have at least a couple days’ worth of completed strips uploaded and ready to go.

Or it could have just pointed out the need to have today’s strip done about five minutes earlier…

(Or maybe that missing a webcomic update isn’t quite as big a problem in the grand scheme of things as somebody’s house burning down?)

Today’s bonuses: An alternate version of today’s strip, and a sprite strip in which one of the rumormongers is a little indecisive when it comes for who to vote for in Rumormonger Idol.
